Day Five

Wedding, 3 Dives, Karaoke-

We headed out to 3 Dives around 5:30pm. Before we even exited the SATP gate to hail a taxi, we were greeted by Shorty, an SATP taxi driver. I offered him $10 for the ride to 3 Dives and he accepted. Shorty was a very pleasant man and a great driver. I would not hesitate to use him again and he also does tours. If you want a private tour of Mayfield Falls, Ricks, etc., he would be perfect. His car is nice too.

This is the menu which is posted outside of the 3 Dives hut. You decide what you want and go in to give your order.

The prices are in Jamaican dollars. Dan and I each ordered the 1/4 jerk chicken- his with french fries and mine with rice. We also had a few bottles of Red Stripe.

This is Cynthia. She is a chef but was also the cashier this day. She was a very pleasant woman.

This is chef Homey. He really wanted his picture on the Internet and asked if I could take a few of him. He was so nice and really knows how to cook a great Jamaican meal.

The seating is either under a pavilion or open seating by the cliff. We chose to sit by the cliff. There was only four other people when we arrived.

3 Dives is located on the west end cliffs right next to Xtabi which you can see in the background.

In the evening after the sunset, 3 Dives starts a big bonfire. This is the 3 Dives crew preparing the wood for it.

Here is Chef Homey with a Marlin fish (head only). He caught it earlier and wanted to show it off.

Here is Homey again holding up a lobster. It is not lobster season but they freeze fresh lobster before the end of season. I was told that the fines are humongous and you can even do jail time if you catch lobster during off season.

While waiting for our meal, I noticed this bird. 3 Dives was such a beautiful, natural, spiritual place. I really enjoyed the atmosphere here.
