Nicole and Danny's 2006 Vacation Day Two

| Beach
Exploration on Bloody Bay-
We woke around 7:00am and headed to the buffet for breakfast. Some of the buffet items included french toast, made to order eggs and omelets, pancakes, fresh fruit, cereals, bacon, rolls, bagels, toast and a couple Jamaican dishes- bammy and some type of vinegar soked fried fish with peppers and onions. (delicious!) There was also fresh juice and strong coffee. I could not believe how few people were at the resort. At the most during breakfast, maybe 10. |
After breakfast, we headed over to the beach. Do I look like the typical tourist or what? I had my mug ready for when the beach bar opened at 10:00am. Hey! It's vacation, why not? |
| This is the left view of the beach. While laying out on the beach, you will be approached by the 'Braid Ladies', the Office of Nature (more on that later) or the water sports person who works at SATP. These people will offer their services to you and if you are not interested, you can politely say no thank you and they will remember you and not bother you again except to maybe say hello. It was NO PROBLEM, MON. |
My favorite beach activity... notice how crowded the water is. :) TIP: Pack water proof sunscreen and I highly recommend Bandaid water-block bandages. I stepped on a tree root and cut my foot. These bandages really hold well when wet. |
If you pay attention, you might catch a glimpse of one of these sand crabs. Don't worry, they keep as much distance from you as you would from them. Cute, isn't he?
| The SATP included water sports are located to the left of the beach bar. they are limited but I wasn't interested in any of them anyway. If you want to jet ski or take a fishing boat, parasail or scuba, there are plenty of them all around. One guest went fishing for tuna on a charter and caught 32! Best to go in the morning. |
| This is the view when looking to the left of the beach.
Past the green wall is RIU Tropical followed by Couples with the Grand
Lido on the end. (Dan and I married there 9 years ago)
You can walk up to the end of the beach but can't enter the GL property. |
To the right of the beach is the Office of Nature, followed by woods and hanging branches with RIU Hotel on the end. The Office of Nature is a collection of craft vendors. Later in the week, I planned to buy a little something from each of them. |
| There are a few trees around the beach for shade and some
picnic tables to eat at.
This guy was in one of the beach bands that played for us. Great music! |
| For lunch, we ate at the Beach grill again. It opens at
11:00 where as the buffet in the resort opens at 12:30. I ordered the
snapper which was awesome. It was grilled crispy on the outside, juicy
on the inside and drizzled with a mango raison sauce. Dan ordered a
cheeseburger and we shared a plate of jerk chicken.
They have a few tables around the beach bar like this one.
